After pictures of female rapper Spice surfaced with her skin color changed, fans who were oblivious to the fact that it was all fake took her decision to bleach her skin to heart, and twitter. When things seemed to get out of hand Spice revealed that the skin change wasn't real, it was only a temporarily change to push the subject matter in her new music video Black Hypocrisy. Once the heat around Spice simmered down, rumors of the destiny child singer Kelly Rowland skin bleaching flooded the media. After posting countless videos, and a slight coloration change in the photo's fans had concluded Kelly Rowland was now bleaching her skin. Kelly Rowland didn't waste anytime shutting the rumors down by posting a video addressing fans who had made these false allegations.
“I am not the one to bleach my skin, nor do I want to bleach my skin, nor do I have to bleach my skin. I don’t even think that…it’s not for me,” she said. “So don’t go saying stupid stuff like that. You ever thought that it could be the lighting?” In case her message didn’t clearly translate to the masses, the mother-of-one reiterated that she takes pride in her skin tone, which has been referenced on a number of rap songs. “I am still chocolate, forever chocolate, proud to be chocolate,” Rowland said. “Shout out to all my chocolate girls.”
